So apparently dinner at Roy's Wednesday night was non-noteworthy.

    Here's the best part.

But before that, we will be hard at work, as noted earlier, constructing our next EB which will go out on Tuesday (the first of several we’re planning over the next month or so).

Before we begin that, however, it is time to go play golf.[i/]

(Putin 1/17) Gone but not forgotten. IGWT, Speedy, Bear, BigE, HokieFore, John Burns, Russ, TahoeDale, Dahlonega, Astrorat, Stewart Blay, Oldhoopster, Broadstruck, Ricko, Big Moose, Cardinal.

<In a span of a few minutes early in the day, two dealers in separate conversations volunteered that they no longer bid in auctions at all, since they feel like they get better deals on the bourse floor. We don’t agree with that, and think our best approach is to buy cool coins wherever we find them, but maybe it is different in other specialities.>

Ive been thinking this very thing! With everyone and their moms bidding on Heritage auctions, its more of a retail place than a wholesale venue. Judging by the many threads of, "My newp I won, but I paid too much" here on this forum, most will probably agree.

I always love reading the CRO reports, thanks for posting.

Most interesting is their customer who bought a coin a few years ago for 132K and has just sold it for 500K.

It argues again for hunting down and buying very rare pieces if your aim is to insure a real return on your investment. This principle works for all collectables: art, cars, etc.

This is very interesting. They seem to be in a good position to comment on the market and make recommendations which would be interesting additions to what happened. I wouldn't complain image

Congrats to CRO for having a good show! It seems another dealer, that posts market reports, failed to have a good show by their standards.
