1960 VIP Proof Crown

Has anyone here seen one in hand? If so, sound you provide your thoughts as to the difference in comparison to the PL issue?

  • I have one. The fine detail is finer, like the crosshatching in the centre of the rose is fully formed whereas the PL it's a bit flat. The rim is sharper and the milling feels sharp when picked up by the edge. Also it has the wide 60, although the PL comes in both wide and normal width 60.

    I have one, I believe, with a bit less frosting but a nice proof bought from Spink some years ago. No pics cabability on a reliable basis yet I regret to say...
