Will PCGS rotate the coin the way I want inside the holder?
I have a particular coin with toning that looks better slightly rotated. I.e. instead of the head looking to the right of the holder, rotated so the head is looking down and right. Something like that.
Is there any way I can have PCGS rotate it that way when they holder it?
I would be fine paying more for this. And I would be fine doing it "at an event" also so I could explain it to the grader.
Anyway, is there any way to get this request done?

If one of my coins is rotated inside of the slab, I take the slab, hold it with a corner pointing down towards carpet, and start hitting it against the carpet. The coin will rotate one way or the other. If it rotates the wrong way, try hitting a different corner.
There has been a few threads about this in the past.

How would that change the angle? He must mean tilted slightly away or towatds the viewer, not rotated. Either way the answer would be no.
But it doesn't sound possible. I didn't think it was.

You have what "THE SNAKE" refers to as a 3 degree coin.

Yeah, I think they would need a thin shim under the top of the coin. I say no way Hozay.
<< <i>No, I mean rotated X%. Not tilted. i.e. instead of "face up", something like face rotated 25%.

You can usually rotate it just about any way you want. I just had to straighten out some of mine that rotated by themselves on my trip to Baltimore for the show. The thing I have found is don't keep banging the corner hard. Rather, it has worked better for me to rapidly tap the slab corner on a tabletop or hard surface, only raising the slab about 1" or less from the surface. I have never had a problem straightening coins in PCGS holders this way. You can do a search of this forum, as there have been several threads about this subject. It does work, and is very easy to do!

...specialty job. damn unions.

Oh OK. Just going by your original post . Rotating would not change the angle.
