Recent pickup..1984 Donruss Don Mattingly..UPDATE:PSA 10 WOOHOO

Recent pickup on Ebay from newbie seller...got for under $10. What do you think it would grade? Measures up with other 1984 Donruss cards I have so I am pretty sure it's not trimmed.

Is the back as well centered as the front? If so, looks like at least a PSA 9 to me.

Looks great, but the Donruss logo's blurriness makes me worry about it being legit. Haven't seen the counterfeits in awhile, so I could be off base on this... Could also be the result of the scan.

Scott- The Donruss logo with card in hand is bold & crisp...my scanner made it kind of blurry.

Tiny red print spot on the left side of the cap in line with the top of the N, and maybe a white spot above that in line with the top of the cap. Centering T/B is a tad off but should be within 45/55 standards. Wroth subbing no matter what, but as for 9 vs 10 it will be a flip of a coin.
Looking for rare Randy Moss rookies and autos, as well as '97 PMG Red Football cards for my set.

If this is fake all cards are dead.

This is super nice and a PSA 9 is a given a PSA 10 is not known.

    Good luck!

It's really nice but the left margin is a touch wider than the right, I don't see it gemming.

In the scan, the left margin is - at most - 1 pixel different than the right. It's well within the range for a 10 but I think the red print dot keeps it from a 10 if the grader sees it.

    Sharp card!

I agree, the red dot prevents it from getting a 10.

The centering is going to be a non-factor here. If anything holds this card down, it'll be other factors.

Here is the auction number when I bought the card... 110694219045 sorry, couldn't get a link to work. Love the vague/incorrect descriptions and blurry photos.

I've subbed over 10 of these and only received a 10 one time. Yours is nice but slightly OC top-bottom. They are tougher on these than they are on commons from the set. I think it's a 9 but good luck on it.

I'd say that you did great for the price. Hopefully nothing got smooshed in that screw down holder.

I recently had a similar nice one:

    '66 Bob Brown (Raw)

    PSA 8 '66 Bob Brown

    $3 raw, $237 sold as an 8.

When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

    Congrats

They are tougher on Mattingly's than on other cards from that set
