It amazing what has happen here in the past 10 years. The Pats(even though I am not a fan) have won three Super Bowls, Sox have won two, Celtics have one and now the B's have just won a title. What a run for the 4 major sports!

<< <i>i agree, all this talk of green bay being title town is ludicrous congrats to the Bruins. >>
Green Bay is Titletown USA. Has been since the 60's because of Packer's football. It is, will be and forever be Titletown USA. Sorry Boston, you can't change history.

The Packers had a great run ine 60's, but Boston's 10 year run is even more impressive.
Green Bay has only one pro sport. And the state only has two pro sports in the Packers and Brewers. The Bucks don't count.
If you are going by total championships in all major sports than New York has it hands down. But yes, you guys have had a nice run the past decade.
What you will find interesting is if you go to the yellow pages in Green Bay and search for businesses named Titletown ....... you will find dozens of them. Many of them have been opened since the mid 60's
<< <i>I am talking one sport here. Not the culmination of hockey, football, baseball and basketball. Most Championships

Why don't the Bucks count?

"A nice run"......No other city can boast in a 7 year span that they won all four major championships. Yes, the New York area has 55 championships compared to Boston's 33. Boston has the Celtics, Bruins, Pats and Sox, New York has towards the 55 championships the Yanks, Mets, Giants, Dodgers, Devils, Rangers, Islanders, Sabres(even though they have not won anything), Giants, Jets and Knicks.
<< <i>If you lived in Wisconsin you would understand why the Bucks don't count. >>
Thats fine, but if they ever win a title,it would be a shame the Wisconsin sport fans would say it doesn't count.

New York Yankees- 27 time Champions- enough said. The Bronx, NY shall now be referred to as titletown and city of champions.
Boston has a nice run but still has a way to go.

Don't forget the NY Nets.
They won two ABA championships (in 1974 and 1976). That was when they had Dr. J.
Steve
Said ESPN- "The Valdosta High School Wildcats hold the record for the most wins in high school football with 838, have claimed 23 Georgia State Football Championships, and garner six National Championships. Lowndes High School in Valdosta has claimed its share of titles by winning the Georgia State Football Championships three of the last four years. Valdosta State University are the current Division II National Football Champions."
Sorry Boston.
Always buying Bobby Cox inserts. PM me.
<< <i>I am now going to refer to it as City of Champions. >>
Valdosta, Titletown USA. Boston, City of Champions. I think you've come up with a workable solution here. Can we also agree upon New York, Village of A**holes?

<< <i>Try as you may, you are all WRONG. ESPN actually did declare a Titletown USA..... >>
They also declared the 2005 USC football team as the second greatest college FB team of all time. By the way, they declared this prior to the '05 championship game.

What a joke! How about waiting to be sure they're even the best team of 2005 before anointing them second greatest ever? And this isn't even counting what would unsurface later with this squad.
