Amazing stuff. How often have you seen Killer Kahn auto cards show up. Has PSA/DNA been adding more wrestling autos in the authentication data base now with guys from this set.
I have seen a few Killer Khans show up. I am thinking of sending in a bunch with the expectation that many of them could be vouchered. I'd really like to get a red flip set.

BUYING Frank Gotch T229 Kopec Looking to BUY n332 1889 SF Hess cards and high grade cards from 19th century especially. "Once you have wrestled everything else in life is easy" Dan Gable
For those who do not know this is one of the most difficult wrestling autographs to find.
Brody was killed in 1988 in Puerto Rico and was not a very frequent signer. There was only a six year window for these cards to be signed and Brody spent a tremendous amount of time in Japan.
Rob ... AWESOME addition to your collection! CONGRATS!
STAY HEALTHY!

I honestly thought that I would be able to acquire a Andre the Giant before a Bruiser Brody autograph all star. I'm excited about this one.

Nice Brody... I think Blackwell has to be one of the toughest, for series 2. I have read that he was illiterate. ANyone have know legit examples of how he signed his name? I know he was on that sheet navarro posted. Sure he didn't like signing much.
By no means am I trying to diminish the coolness of this thread, nor the accomplishment, BUT:
For cards of: The Grappler Super D Mr. Olympia The Crusher (I hear Mel Blanc's voice and see Bugs Bunny saying, "Hold this," as he pulls the giant rubber band) The Destroyer, and last but certainly not least the aptly named - Mr. Wrestling 2 (as opposed to Jr. - I wonder what happened to Mr. Wrestling 1?)
and to a lesser extent, all of those that weren't using real names - Sergeant Slaughter, The Iron Shiek, Koko Beware, etc., etc., etc.
Well, the first group - how does PSA get good exemplars? That has to be as tough or tougher than getting an 1800's baseball player.
Second, particularly since these cards have come out, the pretense of unscripted outcomes has gone away, wouldn't most of these guys be willing, perhaps, to sign their real name and then put their character's name in quotes?
They must have had to practice these signatures endlessly in order to write one with any sense of style and consistency. It would take me forever to learn how to quickly, fluidly and consistently sign a made up name.
I do think that PSA is a bit slow on having exemplars for many of the wrestlers in the set. I sent in a bunch of legit autos under last months special so it will be interesting to see how many are slabbed and how many vouchers I receive. I think with the interest in these cards and the attention they are receiving including an article in SMR, there could be more effort in trying to authenticate these autos. At least that is what I am trying to convince myself of. I think writing styles are fairly consistent no matter what the words are. If the Destroyer is signing his name "The Destroyer" thousands of times there is going to be a consistency to it over time. I may have some samples of his auto over a course of 20 years and you can witness for yourself. I really do not see the difference in how a wrestler's real name and stage name would be different than Cassius Clay changing his name to Muhammad Ali and PSA authenticating each of those autographs. The only difference would be the amount of autos they have seen of the guy but the words are different.
I am facebook friends with a wrestler from the all star set. I wonder if I could have the wrestler verify that it is his autograph to PSA? I considered doing this as I have received a voucher for him before. How would I get this information to PSA?

Out of town right now but I now have the entire 1982 set in graded form!!! I have 34 in PSA/DNA red flips and have graded versions of Andre the Giant in PSA 7 and Bruiser Brody autographed card and one in a PSA 8 holder. I hope to get that one in a red flip as well and just leave my quest for an Andre the Giant full autograph...not just an Andre although I cannot be too picky.
BUYING Frank Gotch T229 Kopec Looking to BUY n332 1889 SF Hess cards and high grade cards from 19th century especially. "Once you have wrestled everything else in life is easy" Dan Gable
I need two more 1982s to have a complete set of the B set now
I need five more of the 1983s to have a complete set of it.
As for the 1982 set, I have 8 of the 10 wrestlers who are deceased in red flips and only need to acquire the Andre the Giant. Of course that is a huge card but I do know a few people that have it so you never know.
BUYING Frank Gotch T229 Kopec Looking to BUY n332 1889 SF Hess cards and high grade cards from 19th century especially. "Once you have wrestled everything else in life is easy" Dan Gable
I added some scans and upgrades to the lot including Junkyard Dog (new), The Hulk Hogan (new), Tony Atlas PSA 9 (incredible) and Buddy Rogers (new). Upgrades also included Brad Rheingans from a PSA 5 to a PSA 7 and a Angelo Mosca from a PSA 4.5 to a PSA 6. Another upgrade was from Ernie Ladd PSA 6 to a PSA 7 which is awesome since he passed away a few years ago and those upgrades are quite tough! Also slabbed a Adrian Adonis in a PSA slab which was a first for me in after previously being vouchered.

BUYING Frank Gotch T229 Kopec Looking to BUY n332 1889 SF Hess cards and high grade cards from 19th century especially. "Once you have wrestled everything else in life is easy" Dan Gable
It is official as I have a complete graded 1982 set with graded cards filling in for the signed cards that I do not have or in red flips, also have the 1982 B set completely graded, and 1983 wrestling all star set. I have 21 autographs that need to be authenticated and slabbed but they are of lesser known wrestlers for the most part so it may take a while for PSA to recognize them. In the mean time, I have a graded PSA card to take their spot and the signed version as well. I want a slabbed set and this will have to do for now. :-)

I do not know if I understand your question about an autograph being bogus because he was went by a couple different wrestling names. The autographs both came out of the same hand.

<< <i>I do not know if I understand your question about an autograph being bogus because he was went by a couple different wrestling names. The autographs both came out of the same hand. >>
To me, it's like Harrison Ford signing a Star Wars Han Solo trading card as "Dr. Richard Kimble." I'm blown away that PSA even touches this stuff. It's a bit more convoluted than, say, Mickey Mantle signing a Mickey Mantle baseball card.
As for what a true Sweet Brown Sugar autograph looks like (disregard the fact that 99.9% of wrestling fans don't even know that Koko and Sugar are the same guy), god only knows, because nobody at PSA sure the hell does.
Thanks for your perspective but I do not see it this way. A lot of Hollywood celebrities have "stage names" and I do not think for a moment autograph seekers would have an issue with that. They write those autographs so many times it does become a part of them and their identity. I agree there can be some extreme examples of a wrestler changing his name like Cactus Jack, Mankind, Mick Foley, etc which would be a validation for your point. I still think that PSA can authenticate those with little problem though. Some of these wrestlers are pretty much known as one name for their careers or might have held a name for short period of time before having one stick.... I see no issue with it. Thanks for the discussion as it is good to have another perspective.
To be honest it has not been easy getting all these in red flips. I have been vouchered so many times but I know the autographs are good and I keep at it and keep sending them in and more and more information on this set and autographs are getting out there. I'm still sitting on 21 autographs that I would love to have in red flips but PSA needs to be more educated on the autographs. I can only hope they will be able to slab them later.

The 75 cards were taken out of my set on the registry and are just gone and only have the other 33 right now. This sucks as I completed a mixed set. It was bad enough when they took the PSA/DNA out of the pop reports but this really jacks with my set now. Not too happy.

Very impressive set. What was the n9. That's my most dreaded thing to see when I check my subs... And with all the random cards I send I get them a lot
Blassie is an improvement of what I had from a 5 to a 6, Goulet had never been red flipped before so I was thrilled with a 7.5, Garea had never been red flipped so I loved getting a 7 on that one as it is a yellow card and those are tough. Also got a Dutch Mantell from a 5 to a 6. Going to put Thesz and Blassie straight into the collection. Had a Lou Thesz 6 but liked this one a bit better and was thinking it would grade the same....oh well.
I got vouchered on Big John Studd which drives me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
