Of Gods and Men

Purchased a few items, sight unseen, just because they sounded interesting and were inexpensive. You never know what you might find. Well here is what I got:

First, the men. Guys who may have thought themselves divine. The lion on the reverse is of greater interest. A swiped proof.



An award for men. The iconic lion symbol of India



Ramatanka. I am particularly pleased with the sharp strike of Hanuman on one of them.




And I finally came across one of Kali Mati.

I like the Indian coin designs. They remind me of the Kushan dinars I've just been looking at in my new book.

That was Ethiopia's 3rd try at the lion and cross. Previous tries had the lion carrying the cross on the far side leg or carrying it left pawed.
