Would the back turn you off?

I'm still trying to add one for my PC. Should this card have been an 8?
Good thing he had a pic of the back. Bummer. Badly off, and black spot on bio.

I don't like it. Keep looking. The wait will be worth it.

I guess it would depend on the price. Would I pay "9" money for it? NO!

The "market" hates it, so I hate it.

    MINT 9: Mint
A PSA Mint 9 is a superb condition card that exhibits only one of the following minor flaws: a very slight wax stain on reverse, a minor printing imperfection or slightly off-white borders. Centering must be approximately 60/40 to 65/35 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the reverse.

personally, I would wait for a better example if you're looking for a 9.

If you can get it cheap, go for it. Just think of it as an investment towards a better 9 later on when you decide to upgrade.

If you're paying full PSA 9 price, pass.

  • I would pass unless you can get the card for PSA 8 price. plus I don't like the top left corner could be the scan or my eyes.

I know my luck if I sent that card in, it would have came back PSA 9(MC), PSA 8 (oc) or not gradable miscut.

As others have said, it all depends on the price.

I personally don't give much thought to the back of cards as long as there is no paper loss that results in missing text.

    I'm definitely passing.
I'll keep it on my watchlist just to see where it ends at.

There are plenty of 9's that pop up on Ebay. I would wait for a better one.

You can definitely find one that's nicer centered on the front, too. I'd wait it out.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

<< <i>You couldn't pay me to own a card with that back. In all honesty, the front doesn't do much for me either. I'm really anal when it comes to centering. And I'm not the least bit of a fan when it comes to the rough cut edges of many OPC issues. >>

Good thing your username is "baseball", because unless you buy BGS sheet cut hockey cards, O-Pee-Chee cards are rough cut like that

Not to get off topic on the card back, but my uncle was in town from Calgary a couple weeks back and we were talking puck. He's a huge Flames fan and remembers Messier as a dirty SOB in his early days. I didn't get into hockey until the 1990 by which time Messier had won a cup without Gretzky and was already an elder statesmen. I had him in the Cam Neely mold of a 40 goal scorer who could punch your teeth down your throat if called for. But not an Alex Burrows level dirtbag.

Can anyone recall Messier a la 1982 and whether my Uncle is just a bitter old Flames fan?

    Thanks
