**BS comments removed**

UPDATED 6-13-2011, it was a regretable MISTAKE

**for what it's worth i'll leave this up only so there no reason to think anything is being covered up - it appears i've made a mistake, however, i hope at least enough has been done to out what appears to be a different eBayer causing problems for some of us....thanks to the board for your support.

I've heard mixed things about DACW. Thanks for the warning.

I guess you'll be blocking them from now on.

But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,

Any unopened Baseball cello and rack packs and boxes from the 1970's and early 1980s.
  • I've never sold to them, only bought. After the customer service I received on my last order and the way the treated me I would never deal with them again regardless of the circumstances.
  • I had a list of wax to "sell" to them... I really wanted an offer, after getting an offer barely over what I knew 2 of the 28 boxes sold for (and I was told to cover shipping), and the guy sounding like a complete d*ck on the phone, correcting every mistake I made every everything I just don't even bother

That's about the tenth time I've heard something shady about them concerning small purchases. Really weird. I wouldn't buy/sell anything to/from them at this point.

Wow. Thanks for the heads-up. I don't need to do business with them.

I bought a 2001 Topps Employee Set from them for $399.95 about 6 months ago which is actually a great price considering what raw commons sell for...and after holding my money for a few days and not sending any shipping info, I contacted them. Apparently they "couldn't find" the set and asked if I wanted anything else instead. I told them to cancel that and the rest of my order and to refund the $540 to me. Processing my refund request took them a few more days and then I got my refund about a week after that. I wouldn't shop there again for any reason.

I will say this, though, when they were set up at the Sun Times show in Chicago last November, they had a few attractive young women working the booth. Too bad they were selling a bunch of blaster boxes and retail garbage.

I was set up just down the aisle from them so at least I had a little eye candy when it was slow.

Good to see that Adam will be handling the customer care duties and not somebody named Mr. Schillito.

FWIW, I looked at Muggyman's feedback and the only neg he's left recently was for higbees.com. Is that the same as DACW?

    Adam,

e-mail sent with the info you've requested.

I'll ask the same question here, then: If you are not using your ebay account to make purchases, then who is? [scratching my chin]

Edit to add: ID that won this auction is dacw333, who IS NOT associated with Dave and Adams. Sorry for piling on, JOhn

My 2 cents; I have heard good and bad stories about DACW, but have only good experiences with them and their customer service.

I've been waiting 8 days for payment on a single card and this is not the first time this has happen. Have sent you 2 invoices with no response. John

The eBay id dacw333 is out of North Carolina, Dave & Adams is out of Buffalo, NY.

    No, Higbees is not DACW.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that does not appear to be Dave & Adam's Card World.

dacw_vintage - auctions have Dave and Adam's banner (Buffalo NY)
dacw333 - auctions have no banner (Raleigh NC)

Hmm, this is interesting, dacw333 and Dave and Adam's main selling ID's greatboxes and dacw_vintage use totally different listing templates.

    Could dacw333 be someone else?

  • Muggyman would like to make a huge apology and retract his comment about Dave and Adam's.

It was NOT Dave and Adam's that I have a problem with, it was indeed Higbees. I have always been satisfied with Dave and Adam's, I am terribly sorry for my confusion and erroneous statement.

In summary, I sincerely apologize to Dave and Adam's Card World who have been an asset to the industry and a very trustworthy seller. My comments were not meant for them, please disregard.

Higbees on the other hand, conducted a very unethical ebay transaction with me and I will not bid on anything from them. My comments were intended for Higbees, NOT Dave and Adam's.

I am sorry for my error and my confusion, I'm glad I/we cleared that up.

    Humbly yours,

    Muggyman!

yeah i sold one card for 3 bucks to dacw333 about a month ago, sent an invoice 3 times, finally opened a non payment case and they paid.
  • itzagoneritzagoner Posts: 8,753 ✭✭
well, it looks like it's about time to wash that egg off my face.

my apologies, as well to you Adam and your company, i jumped to an incorrect conclusion.....the symbiotic relationship between your ID and the ID of our friend in N.C. is what confused me.

i retract my complaint and thank you for understanding.....i will pursue this matter appropriately.
  • The eBay account dacw333 is not affiliated with Dave and Adam's Card World, and never has been. I do see how this could be confusing and will be reaching out to eBay to see if anything can be done.

We currently operate three eBay accounts (greatboxes - which features mostly unopened sports boxes, dacardworld - unopened gaming boxes, and dacw_vintage - our single cards and vintage inventory).

I sincerely appreciate those board members that have taken the time to email me information on this seller, as many have pointed out our Buffalo NY location as compared to dacw333 being in North Carolina.

Once again, we take our reputation very seriously and are interested in giving all customers - whether buyers or sellers - a positive experience.

Hats off to Adam from Dave & Adams for clearing that up.

Not quite the way you wish to be introduced to the board, but it is great to know that customer service is important to you guys. Too bad you can't get that guy to change his eBay ID as I can see many people jumping to the wrong conclusion too. This may explain why I've heard mixed things about DACW.

i've backed into a porcupine, ass first....carol, hopefully i've done the right thing here now. image

to Adam, again I commend you for not wanting to shoot me on sight.....if this OTHER ID has been the source of problems for us and you, then i can take a small amount of satisfaction in knowing that maybe the ball will get rolling towards getting this dealer to put up or quit screwing around.

welcome, i hope you can forgive me and we'll start from scratch.

Jeff, kudos to you for your public apology. I've seen far too many others try to deflect attention elsewhere and do anything they can to not take the blame squarely on their own shoulders.
