Quick Photography Question Re Resolution

I'm trying out a new camera set-up with lots of resolution options. My question is what resolution will provide good coin detail without producing crazy large image files?

I would go with the highest res., you can always increase camera storage disk size if necessary. Highest res will give you the best picture file to work with and to save in your pic files. You can always cut down the resolution after you have saved the file. I want the best image in my library. I can tweak it adust sizes later in a copy depending on what I want to do with the image.

Go with the highest rez possible, ie raw files.

Work on them, then downsize to size needed.

I shoot at 15.1 then crop to reduce the file size. Mine average out to 1000 kb. You want to use the highest resolution possibe to get the details.
