Gold Color

Larsen likes the gold color on the left as opposed to the normal gold color on the right... what causes the color on the left?

White balance or color balance correction is the difference in the photos, in my opinion.

Same photographer... the seller mentions the color differences. It almost looks like iodine to me? I see how the holders look different too?

I have seen the difference in colors just like llafoe shows in those photos. I haven't any idea neither what makes one different from the other. But I also prefer what Larsen prefers. Laugh!

Might be the same photographer, but I agree with Tom that the white balance is likely off.

The differences in color reminds me of Gold jewelry from the US (14K-18K) vs. Gold jewelry from the Middle East (21K-22K).

It doesn't matter if it is the same photographer with the same set up and same lights, the color of the PCGS plastic is quite different between the slabs and I know from experience that when you image gold coins all you have to do is correct the white balance or color balance to achieve the yellow gold on the left.

I agree with James. The left side coin was dipped. Iodine will tend to turn the coins pink or or reddish orange.

The second coin in the first post is in an OGH, the last one... '95-'98.
