Sharing my Penzonni Wall Displays...

My son only had 1 baseball game today so I have idle hands. Rather than do the devils work I figured I would post some photos of my display way. A lot of you guys on the board either sold me cards or bought some from me to create "pay pal funds" for some of these purchases. This is my "rookie" card collection. The exception is the Babe Ruth 1920 strip that I use. I figure it is his 1st Yankee card so that will work for me!
The first photo is my larger Penzonni display. It is supposed to hold 50 graded cards but it actually holds 55.

The second Penzonni display is for my horizontal/oversized cards. This one is actually a table top case that I converted to a wall display. It is NOT meant for graded cards but rather raw card in toploaders. It works perfect for horizontal cards. I removed the bottom shelf so I can display oversized cards. I had to stain the backing where I removed the bottom shelf and take off the handles.

I keep these in our "game" room so they are not subject to sunlight. That said they have normal light when someone is in the room. I just got quoted by "Deck the Walls" in our local mall about removing the poly with UV coated glass.
Anyway just wanted to share and say THANK YOU to my fellow board members who helped on this journey. There are about 3-5 more key rookies I am looking for.

<< <i>Wonderful collection, congratulations on a fine display! >>
Thanks Martin. The Jim Brown is from our trade/cash deal with my 87 Griffey minor league card.
looking for low grade t205's psa 1-2
WTB: PSA 1 - PSA 3 Centered, High Eye Appeal 1950's Mantle
<< <i>The pictures look great displaying your cards. Thanks for sharing.
<< <i>That looks FANTASTIC! >>
Thanks for the compliments. Lot's of fun putting this together. I need to replace my Marino & Elway rookies. I sold my BGS 9.5 & BGS 8.5 Marino to help fund my 51 Bowman Mantle PSA 2.5
<< <i>hey on the oversized display there is a psa/dna signed index card..who is it? >>
Great eye. It is signed by Carl Mays. He is the only person to kill a player on a MLB baseball field. He threw a pitch that killed Ray Champman in 1920. Well known spitball pitcher as well.
Wiki info on Carl Mays

<< <i>Eloy, Great looking display. BTW great looking Jeter and Payton RC's wondering where they came from.
Thanks some cat that I deal with from the boards. He gave me a good deal on the Payton then I took him to the cleaners on the BGS 9 Jeter
Actually I think they were fair prices for both of us. I paid slightly over market for the Jeter but it will become very hot soon. Does not matter as this one will get passed down to my 9 year old someday.
Two questions Hookem ...
1) is there any UV protection on your glass (or is the room sunblocked) ?
2) where are the soccer cards ? (JK ...)
very cool
