A different look at Long Beach.

The old switcheroo.

Many dealers are switching tables. I had a hard time finding some of my regular dealers to whom I sell. Many had moved to the back or far side of the hall. Some folks gave up there tables. However, the back of the room was kicking butt. The new tables in the far back end of the hall which normally are empty were full and very, very active. It appeared as if there was a coin show within a coin show.

New section in the back --- dealers pay less than $300 for their table.

Old section in the front --- dealers pay somewhere around 3x that amount for a table.

Not surprising that many folks left the high-rent district... I'm thinking more would have done so if they could have squeezed more tables in that new section image

Nice to hear that they are making this show affordable for those without million dollar inventories :-)

    I must concur.

The tables to the back and the left at the show are much more eclectic than the front part of the bourse.

There is more of a "flea market" feel (which I prefer) with lots of different types of items. I swung by my favorite dealers on the main bourse and spent much of my time taking in the "low rent" district.

Will return today, and keep looking for something that catches my eye.
Many buy and sell transactions. Let's talk!

Far back corner table - $350

Mid range corner (where I am) - $1000

Makes sense to move on back.

Note to self at the shows go to the back and work way back to exit.

Grade the dealer by the coins (+ price) not the location of the table(or size)

Just like church - nobody wants to sit in front.

At the rate they are running this show into the ground there may not be a "next show" at all.

Ya, I noticed alot of relocation flyers at mostly corner lots on the floor,
I also recall when printing my discount coupons that a one day spots
were extremely resonable and even I entertained the Idea of a one
day spot, today was alot more traffic I've ever seen, allthough its been
8 years since I've attended Long Beach, in fact that mall that sit's across
the street where Island burger is is where I parked my car last time, that
whole area was an open & FREE parking lot, other than that the old lady
and I had a good time.
