I'll be throwing out the first pitch at the minor league (Class A) game tomorrow night. The company I work for is sponsoring fireworks after the game, so they wanted a representative for the pitch. I sure hope I can get it over the plate! I haven't played organized ball in 25 years, and that was Tee Ball!
2.5 is pretty much my speed.

Maybe I'll just go for a Quisenberry instead though. Ha!
<< <i>You could use the old "tie a string to the ball and the catcher's mitt trick" >>

hope he stretched and warmed-up a little before he left home?

I got up on the mound, leaned over and squinted at the catcher. The announcer said "He waits for a sign... that he's not going to get..." I wound up and let it go...
BALL!
It was dead center, but a bit high (chest high if there had been a batter) but hey, that's better than throwing it in the dirt. It was a good time all around. And they gave me the ball.
and I can only imagine the Mets saw your post and are contemplating making you an offer.

Why would they make an offer when Grote is still available?
