you probably get a counter offer of $ 1.75

for 1.75 million USD I would also buy a lot of old hammered gold coins,
some greek , some roman , some late medieval , a few gold mexican""royal"" 8 escudos
and a few currency notes as well.

If my math is correct, that would be almost 73 lbs of gold at $1500 per oz. Tough decision indeed.

A million dollars could certainly change the way I go about collecting. The emphasis could be on quality and rarity only, forget about those pesky price tags. Hmmm..... sure would change things.

Honestly though, would collecting be better without the price aspect influencing our decisions? Maybe not.

I wonder how big of a type set one could put together with that money. Say, if you start with the cheapest UNC coin listed in Krause, buy only one for each type (no date/mint/pattern mess) - what percentage of Krause would you be able to cover with that? Probably tens of thousands of coins...

Yeah, I like the idea of seeing how many unique coins I could collect, start a type set for every country. Would be a full time logistical job keeping track of it and storing it, let alone buying.

Would finish all the sets I'm collecting as soon as I could track them down online.
