Purchasing big vintage baseball lots to resell at shows?

I've come to realize that I have a bad buy and sell habit and it doesnt fit well with my attempts to build vintage sets and HOF star collections.
I thought about buying a nice vintage baseball assortment lot or two from an auction house and flipping the cards via setting up shop at a local show for fun and profit.
For those who have gone down this path how did it turn out for you?
Satisfaction, next level of hobby enjoyment?
or
Frustration, regret, stuck with inventory?
Would like some opinions for this buy/sell junky who needs more excitement from the hobby.

of course, he too was plagued by desire and curiousity and look where that got him.
Buy and Sell is profitable.
You make your money when you BUY an item.
That means you gotta buy the item CHEAP.
I am not sure that "auction houses" are the places to buy cheap.
Prolly better to put a 1" reverse-type ad in the sports section of a
small local paper.

That is really the only way I know of to buy items cheap, unless you
have a B&M store.
If you cannot at least double your money, it's just a fun hobby.
