Told you that you were going to get a 10 eventually. It will be fun to watch BBG buy all the Dodgers in PSA 10 for the next few months just because you've faked him out and showed us an obviously stolen scan. You are just soooo mean.
BTW, it's only been a month and a half since you wrote this in a PM to me:
<< <i> Date Posted: Apr/16/2011 12:43 AM Screw that - it'll be a cold day before I ever go for 10s. Oates was bad enough to obtain in a 9 - ain't no 10s out there yet. >>
45 days! You must be living in the Southern Hemisphere where winter is beginning. And just remember, you did this to yourself.
well, it's in hand now. As Steve (gameusedhoop) noted, my "it'll be a cold day before I ever go for 10s" lasted all of 45 days. I'm more than satisfied with the 9s I've got, but if any opportunity comes up to pick off a 10 for a low price, I'll take it.
<< <i>I told ya that you should have started to collect the 78 dodgers signed instead! hahaha >>
Barry, I may still do that. I think it'd be a real fun set to go after.
There are a few on that Dodgers team that are really easy to get TTM. Mota, Cey, Garvey, Russell, Hough, Hooten, Reggie Smith (Jes can get him for you), John, and Baker. Some of those guys dont charge. I dunno who else on that team are good signers...just I have had success with those. And it would be fun to see how many you could get on the Team card.

Baryy Sutton is on the team.I don't know if he is still signing though.I have a 78 Sutton autographed somewhere around here.
Maybe we'll buy that from you Mike. Then we will put together that entire signed 78 Dodgers Team set and then we can sell it for 5x what it is worth to Geordie. We will make great profits on 78s.

Thank you for thinking of us, but we will be passing on that opportunity.
Gosh darn Giants trade another one away... I always remember hearing the announcer saying...Now batting ...# 11ENZO(one word) HERNANDEZ!!! Like he was a big hitter!!

Now that I've got them in hand, I'm not all that impressed with the Hooton. When I did the Dodger set in 9, I didn't pay a single bit of attention to anything but the number on the flip - in a nutshell I bought the holder, not the card. As I look at the Hooton, it's got a noticeable tilt, and the edges look OPC-ish. Can a '78 expert weigh in on whether the Topps issue had a history of rough cuts? I'm wondering how this Hooton ended up in a 10 holder.

<< <i>whats a PSA 10 Oates gonna run you? >>
good question, Eric. Likely a lot, but also likely a fraction of what some would try to sell it to us for.
