I purchased a few medals from a vendor recently and boy, not exactly as described. There were photos, but of mediocre quality. Fortunately, I was making a buy with no specifics in mind. I will be posting my own photos this weekend, but this is what I found:

Germany, Wilhelm II/Ioachin II, AE 44, 1839 - relatively accurate, but the dies appear to have been in poor shape
Switzerland, Military Service Medal, 1871. AR 52. - actually silvered copper
France, AE 48, 1898 - actually, Switzerland, but this I should have been able to spot. What can I say. It was very early in the AM and the photo were mediocre.
France/Italy, Sodality Metal - I have no clue how the vendor arrived at this description. Even from the photo, I could tell it was a medal commemorating somehow St. Ignatius Loyola.
German Medal, Munich, 1879, AE 38, AU - clearly had been mounted with a loop, in the past.
