WTB: '52 MANTLE #311 - PSA/SGC 1,2,3

Looking to spend around VCP. Seeking a clean image; the rest (corners, wrinkles, centering, etc.) will depend on the card in question. Have been the underbidder nearly every time I go for one at the big auction houses; the 20% juice just always puts it slightly out of my price range. If you have one you are looking to part with or have any leads, let me know.

Matt were you the underbidder on that fine PSA 1 '52 Topps Mantle at Legendary Auctions tonight?
Thing was the nicest 1 i've seen.

Yup. I thought so, too, but I bailed out at $5500. Thought for sure that would've brought it home. But with the juice at 6K, it was then into PSA 2 territory at that point-- and if it wasn't as nice in person it would've been a let down. They are out there, and do come up often. Sure was good eye appeal for a PSA 1.

When you run into those instances where it looks very nice for the grade remember to at least reference the highest VCP sale in that grade and when buying low grades look at what authentic prices bring.
There's a few 2's on ebay now.
