Collectors Sportslook Magazine-1990's

Anyone here remember this 1990's magazine?

If so, what year did they stop publication?

I remember buying a few issues and unfortunately must have tossed them. It was sort of the anti-Beckett of the day.

Thanks for any help received!image

Have no idea when they stopped but didn't seem to appear in the stores very long as I only purchased two issues.

Great magazine and wished I had found more but only remember these two issues being available in my area.

Jeff, somehow I knew you would have a couple of issues around!image

I only bought a few myself. Not much info on Google about the magazine, either.

There is an issue from May 1995 on Ebay still in the bag that I may snag.

    Thanks!

I'd like to see other content from it. But by the article shown, it looks like a waste of space.

I loved Collectors Sportslook! It was a cross of Beckett and Mad magazine. It had a ton of information but didn't take our hobby too seriously. That was kind of a breath of fresh air at the time because that was around the time that money really started taking over the hobby.

I wrote them a letter once, which was published. I traded them a few cards I had along with a yogurt coupon for a copy of the magazine signed by the whole staff. I still have the copy of the magazine my letter appeared in (Michael Jordan cover) and the magazine they signed and sent to me (Grant Hill cover).

It was a fun read, I was really bummed when they went out of business.
    Looking for Carl Willey items.

I don't think I have any copies of it around the house?

  • It was ahead of its time in many ways. However; it was a victim, like many other aspects of the hobby downturn caused by the baseball strike in 1994-95. In many ways, if they had been able to keep the magzine going they would have been in better position to adapt to the changing technology because of the youth of the people running the magzine

The magazine was a good read
