I sold several Jim Nash cards to Jim Nash many years back. I also had Greg Page's widow buy some Greg Page boxing magazines from me, and I've had some children of former players buy cards of their fathers.
Very possible. Many people on this board have sold cards to the person appearing on the card or to their relatives. It's pretty kewl when that happens! EDITED TO ADD: Looks like him. StarTiger lists this addy for Mr. Lacey ...7623 East Decatur St. Mesa, AZ 85207

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I've had Bill Hands and Woodie Fryman buy some of their own cards from me.
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo. ~WalterSobchak

BUYING Frank Gotch T229 Kopec Looking to BUY n332 1889 SF Hess cards and high grade cards from 19th century especially. "Once you have wrestled everything else in life is easy" Dan Gable
I collect with a guy that does not have a computer. We sub to PSA together and attend most shows together. I have bought cards of his uncle for him. I have also bought cards of 2 of his nephews for him.
Dave Koslo was his uncle. Bunch of baseball cards from the late 40's and early 50's.
James Augustine is his nephew. Some mid to late 2000's basketball cards.
Nick Sorensen is also his nephew. A few football cards over the last 10 years.
So my guess is that it happens a whole bunch but most people do not even realize it. This example is 3 different last names. Mom's brother (Koslo), sister's kid (Augustine), brother's kid (Sorensen). Augustine's uncle on his dad's side of the family is former Brewer pitcher Jerry Augustine.
Great thread.

After those four National League games, Gorman Thomas was never the same, and neither were the Brewers, and come to think of it neither was I.
I have sold several Non Sport Movie Star cards from the 50's to relatives of theirs, they have identified that fact to me when paying or purchasing and explained that's why they wanted the card, not to collect.
Neil
Actually Collect Non Sport, but am just so full of myself I post all over the place !!!!!!!
this has nothing to do with buying cards but saw Jerome Bettis and Brad Sellers at my son's basketball tournament this weekend near Pittsburgh.... My son plays for a SMAC team and I know that Brad's daughter plays for one of the SMAC teams that was there also... don't know if Bettis also has kids that play....
