This guy has 3 million sports cards (Craigslist idiot)

I called him and he told me he had 10 binders and 15 boxes full of cards, and he estimated them to be about 3 million cards total.

How does someone even come to this assumption, have they never seen more than like 1000 cards in their entire life?

Sigh

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

doubtful. He would be lucky to get a $500 offer.

Going rate for commons in my area is $1/1k
  • Funny,I just seen a thread where some of the other members were discussing their dealings with people who turned up living near them, well it turned up I went and looked at the 3 million plus cards(actually20,000plus of mainly all overproduce crap)hey what do you expect, he just started at ASU and hes' definately not an accounting major!!!hee hee!! Anyways I did pick up all the 1970s singles from him and they were actually pretty clean, turned out he was a nice kid just badly misinformed and VASTLY over evaluated his collection.image
  • I probably helped him by low balling the heck out of him (over the phone), didn't actually see the stuff him being over an hour away but I pretty much told him other than the vintage it is worthless.

3 million cards would be approximately 2 TONS of cardboard. Probably in the 3500-3800 pound range. Hope you brought a dump truck.
