PSA vs. SGC vs. BGS - Different Eras?

Just a quick thought...

Why is SGC favored for pre-War?
Why is PSA favored for post-war to early modern?
Why is BGS favored for modern?

They seem to definitely fetch a premium in their respectively strong eras (ie: 1960s PSA cards are definitely at a premium compared to SGC....and BGS are barely represented).

I think it is a reflection of the collecting base within each realm.

The Registry is the strength of PSA for the post war and vintage.

SGC has developed a small, but incredibly loyal following in the prewar market.

BGS has found a home in the modern as a result of their marketing strategy with Beckett Magazine and the sub-grades providing a little more impetus (more so than the half-grades do).

As a result, there are significant loyalties within those markets . . . almost to the point that some people specialize in only one grader and a specific era or genre.

Beckett's got the best holder and best grading concept (subgrades) in the business, they just lack the reputation for anything other than modern.

I wonder when that'll change. PSA and SGC have the reputation, but a vastly inferior holder.
