Isn't it possible for him to throw with more velocity after this surgery? So he should be hitting 105MPH now.

I'm simply dumbfounded at the irony of Tommy John needing to have a procedure done that had the same name as him. It is almost as bizarre as the misfortune of Lou Gehrig getting a disease that had the same name. What are the odds?

it's possible to pick up 2-3 mph but not all TJ surgeries are a success as BJ Ryan, Mike Hampton, Dreifort, Pat Hentgen, Matt Riley, Scott Williamson, Kris Benson, Jaret Wright, Denny Neagle, Billy Koch, Paul Wilson, Scott Erickson, Adam Eaton, and about fifty other former pitchers can attest to. It's also possible he could lose velocity and command.
