1953 Stahl Meyer Mantle experts

I see on ebay all the time 1953 Stahl Meyer Mantles PSA 1mk for over $3k, and straight PSA 1's for anywhere from $3750-8000. They are always there but never sell. What should a PSA 1 with a qualifier sell for?

Thanks for the help,

the card trades in limitied quantity so it's tough to know an accurate price.

my only experience was a PSA 1 with no qualifiers that I sold for approx. 2k

i think the legiondary price is the one I purchased (and resold for 2k)...the day the auction was ending a forum member was posting links to the auction touting the card saying he was the high bidder and he really hoped he would win. when actually he was the consignee of the card to Legiondary

Well THAT sucks. Do you have the link to that thread?

Edited to add: I found it. What an "Overrated" thread it was.

I love the card. Does anyone know which Stahl Meyer Mantle is the most desirable - 1953, 1954, or 1955? According to this SCD Catalog, the 1955 is the most valuable. Don't think I've ever seen one, though.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.

Thanks, Doug. I think this is the same picture as the 1953. I don't think I've ever seen any Stahl Meyer Mantle graded 2 or higher for sale any where. I'm sure it has happened, but only rarely.

  • I have to believe the most desirable is the 1953. Joe Orlando has that year in the top 250 Sportscards in the hobby set.

the 53' has almost 3 times the cards graded as the 54' and 55' - 28 to 10/11 cards
  • Interesting. Once again thanks for the info.

54 and 55 are both tougher than the 53
