image Nice looking pinball machines. Are they yours?

I'm sure Stone has them in his basement. image

I remember playing ones similar to the top one. Every once in a while the small metal ramp in the middle of the game would pop up and give you a chance for a GRAND SLAM! Used to cost a dime to play back then.

I was thinking about picking one up. Something tells me they are like boats though - you're happy when you buy it, but even happier when you get rid of it......

  • I also remember playing one similar to the top one, often thought about adding one to my collection....but I'm afraid that like so many other games it would be something I played the heck out of for the first month and then it wouldn't get used for the next 10 years.

At least you don't have to fill it up with gas...LOL. If I had the room, the bottom one looks like its in great condition, but I agree the novelty would probably wear off after awhile.

Those games look cool in a room even if they aren't always played. I have a full size Pac Man and Speak Easy (casino theme) pinball machine in my basement. My kids now are starting to like them. My daughter (5 years old) just finished the first screen at Pac Man by herself. Makes a Dad proud, never mind all that book reading stuff...Pac Man is where it is at.

With me if it were Pac Man, I agree with 72skywalker the novelty would never wear off.

I'd have to get at least one game in every day...Donato

Pac Man was good, but I'll take Space Invaders any day of the week. I could play that game until my thumb gave out...LOL.

I still have my original Atari which still works. I told my wife it was for the kids to play with. image

Not as old (mid '90s probably?) but the Frank Thomas Big Hurt Pinball game was AMAZING! I've often thought of picking one of those up but don't have the room for it right now.

When I was a kid, my father owned a pool room, or "billiard parlor" whatever ya want to call it, and of course it had quite a number of pinball machines there including the first one...I don't remember ever playing the second one, but that first one was certainly loads of fun.

Hate to say this, but after awhile I got so good at it, that it became too boring, and I preferred other pinball machines that were much tougher.

Yeah, originally I started hunting for the top one - the classic Chicago Coin game - but as I was thinking about it, I thought the Williams Slugfest might provide more "longer" term fun.

Anyway, I've now mentally taken the plunge and have a guy that is finishing a restoration of the newer Slugfest machine and I'll make a decision at that point. I'm willing to host the first annual New England Collectors Forum Cookout this summer and we can all play! image

    Pinball machines are really cool.

There's certain types that's I'm partial to - but they're not cheap - and one has to have a lot of space - which I don't.

Hi Mike - we don't have basements here - wish we did - it would be all mine!!!!
