Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
What is your companies position and opinion of card doctoring/alterations?

Are you saying probstein123 sold the same card twice? Once in 2010 and once in 2011? Or am I mis-interpreting?
==> we sold 2 different ones...last year for 1593 and then yesterday for 985...
see scans...they are different cards / different flips....
very tough card though....

I think you are. The last few sold for $1500-$3000, and this one didn't bring $1000. I think it is just a coincidence that he sold the last 2. With his volume it wouldn't be a surprise.
once a 5th card hits the market , there is a huge dip in prices cause the big registry buyers already have it...
we see this quite often.....

Behold the power of cheese.
Even some of the low pops have dropped in this set - Gibbon is no longer the crazy card it once was, neither is Sheldon. Cerv and Gentile are still high, however.
BTW - I've always wanted to ask this question. Who keeps track of these "record" prices? Is there a "record" book somewhere, and if so, who maintains it?
Buying Vintage, all sports.
Buying Woody Hayes, Les Horvath, Vic Janowicz, and Jesse Owens autographed items

The "They Commitee". "They" do lots of things.
Bowman Baseball -1948-1955
Fleer Baseball-1923, 1959-2007

I've been wondering if sets spiked (or even increased) in value soon after an SMR feature article... food for thought

<< <i>Some of these 1961 puppys are blazing. Check the hammer on the "Eddie Fisher" PSA 9...there are 9 in 9 per the pop report, so not that difficult of a card.

He doesn't realize it yet, but the under-bidder will get the next one for $301 and save himself $475.

It could have been Bill Gates, it doesn't matter. Only two people were willing to bid over $300, and now one of those two is satisfied.
Dont get me wrong, 17 new people could show up this week on eBay all wanting a PSA 9 Eddie Fisher and render my contention inaccurate, but that aside, the under-bidder might only have to deal with the guy that stopped at $300 on the next go round.
