Proset errors - is it worth it????

I have two printer paper boxes loaded with proset, score and fleer cards from 89 thru 92, is it worth it to take the time searching for the errors that are mentioned at times in threads???? or is it a waste of time and effort???? I've heard that one card...the manley for instance can command top dollar but are there any others thanks al.

Dexter Manley error is big $$. Last Ditka Big HOF variation went for $70, I think. Marion error has settled around $75-$85.

I'm always willing to throw down for some 1990 Pro Set that is in PSA 10ish condition. Even commons.

    It's worth looking through.

thanks for info....will continue going thru them and see what happens....so far majority of what I've gone thru is 89 Proset and a bunch of fleer and score.....

I know someone listed all the errors on a thread at one time. I have a few unopened boxes that I guess I'll rip to see if I have any of the LUCKY boxes.

Would someone list the errors that are worth looking for? Let's say $25.00 and up in a PSA 9. If you think there are others that are worth looking for please LMK. Thanks!

Most Pro Set variation prices are across the board. Here is my ongoing master set checklist, I have given it a star-rated system based on scarcity (this doesn't always translate to high dollar sales) but should give you an idea of what you want to find. Keep in mind that much of this stuff has only been recently discovered, and hasn't been cataloged in the big guides so fewer people know about them.

Thanks very much. I remember copying the list when you first posted it but then threw it away. Sitting here opening a couple of boxes with my garbage pail next to me. If the card is NOT on your list with at least one asterisk, into the garbage it goes! Thanks again.

How much do the Dexter Manley errors sell for?
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

It varies. When one doesn't show up for a long time, it usually goes for 700-900. Usually settles between 400-600 when the hype wears off.

The non-error 1989 Pro Sets may not have much value, but sentimentally they rock for me. I was in the Air Force and I was travelling cross country to my first permanent duty station in California when we decided to spend the night in Rock Springs, Wyoming. The next morning I went over to a grocery to get some breakfast for my family and myself and I spotted the ProSet packs. I bought maybe 15 packs, and I was in love. After some pretty weak efforts by Topps in the mid to late 80's in football cards, these cards were amazing! The pictures were crisp, the colors were bright, the player selection was excellent, and the backs were beautiful. I still have my set in the ProSet binder that I got from sending off from the offer on the wrapper. If only they hadn't made 2 million of every card...

Except for the don beebe 89 pro set card.. Its one of the worst pics I have ever seen on a card. It looked like something his mom snapped at a high school game. I really like 86 through 88 topps but 89 topps was one of the worst sets of all time. Pro set and score were huge up tic. Series 3 was my fav. Marrion butts and sterling sharpe rookies with the powder blue borders were the best.

The errors are only worth the time to look for if you have any.

If you look and find no errors, it was a waiste of time.

    Good luck
