My legends of Notre Dame autographed helmet added 10 more with pics of all

Just wanted to show my new project I've been working on this year. I started with a single signed Joe Montana proline Notre Dame helmet already authenticated by JSA as well as Joe's personal hologram. I got former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown in person for free in Dallas a couple months back. A friend got former Heisman Trophy winners John Huarte and Johnny Lattner on May 1, 2 at a golf tourney in Oklahoma.

I've got a private signing that I'm running with Raghib "Rocket" Ismail in a few weeks so he'll be next. I've missed so many opportunities in the past to get Notre Dame legends that I've met, but hopefully over the next couple of years, I'll meet several of those guys again at different functions. No real parameters for who I want on the helmet, just guys that I'm a fan of that had some great moments in Notre Dame football history, and that I can add without breaking the bank (In other words, I'm not paying Bettis' $175 or so fee to sign helmets, but hopefully I'll catch him at some ND function).

WTG Mike ... Knowing how crazy you are about the Fighting Irish I know this project will be one very close to your heart. Enjoy the ride.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

    Very nice Mike!

I'm a Columbia alum - but really wanted to attend ND.

    Good luck on future sigs.

The helmet is nothing short of superb.

That's very cool! I was just starting to follow sports, and understand how the game worked when Rocket was at Notre Dame. I'm not an Irish fan, but I thought he was awesome. For a couple of years in my youth I thought UNLV hoops and the Rocket were invincible.

Is it an authentic helmet or a replica full size helmet? I've thought about doing one for "my" school (Nebraska), and thought about getting an authentic helmet. I've only seen authentics/replicas online though, and never in person to do a comparison. Great project either way. That will be impressive.

Thanks, it is an authentic helmet but not game used. I think the primary difference between the two is the quality of the padding on the inside and the facemask. A Nebraska helmet would look sweet signed as the signatures would show very good contrast I would think.

Mike, you added a picture of the "Rocket" with one of his linemen. image

Did you get him to sign the helmet?

Yep, that's yours truly. In college I was kinda skinny like him but one of us put on some pizza pounds image

He did the signing yesterday to benefit a charity that I serve with, Ellis County Children's Advocacy Center

image For the charity benefit, not that you put on the pizza pounds.

    Mike,
Your ND helmet is amazing, that is a really cool display piece. Who else do you still need to get on it besides Bettis?
  • thenavarrothenavarro Posts: 7,497 ✭✭✭
Had a chance while I was in Miami to mingle with several guys and add to my helmet at the same time.

    Brady Quinn

Had an invitation to go to an event on Sunday as well with several more including Bettis and Holtz, but I wanted to go to the Everglades and experience that so I did that instead. Helmet is filling up fast but still room for several more. Will post pics of helmet when I have a chance. Fasano signed it like it was only for him, LOL.
