Most Desirable DiMaggio Card

Any opinions on the most desirable DiMaggio card?

I like the '41 Play Ball but also the '39 black and white photo.

Any help, much appreciated!

Thanks.

I wish I had my 1940 Playball that i sold just before the grading services started. It would been a sure 7 with an excellent shot at an 8. Oh well.......
    Good luck with your search.

The 1941 Play Ball #71 is a great card!

    Most desirable

#1. 1935 Pebble Beach Clothiers (all cards are signed)
#2. 1933-35 Zeenut with coupon (bat or throw)
    #3. 1936 V355 World Wide Gum
    #4. 1937 V300 O-Pee-Chee

There are a few cards you can call his rookie, the 1936 R313 is the cheapest and can be had for under $100 in lower grade. The R312 is another card from 1936 thats not too pricey. Also the R314-4 is sometimes called his rookie even though its really from 1937, its not too pricey as well.

I would say that the 1941 Play Ball is the most desirable due to the fact that it was the year of his 56-game streak and due to the attractive pose. I also like the 1938 Goudey, #274 not #250.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.

I blew it and missed the two REA V355's that just sold. Kicking myself; never even noticed them when I browsed online. Hopefully one pops up soon.

My favorite is the 1939 Playball. It is a clean simple shot in black and white.

'36 V355 Goudey WWG is second

    '36 R312 Pastel is third

*Scans all stolen from ebay. They are not mine (I wish).

I know Pebble Beach Clothiers, Zeenut, and O-Pee-Chee cards command a premium. I just don't like them. Just my 2 cents...
