SF Gaints Cleats and Warrior Uniforms...

Okay I need some help. My friend runs a non profit thrift store here in town to help the homeless. Last week he received a donation of a bunch of cleats and a whole bag of warrior uniforms. The story goes that they were donated to a prison baseball team but since they are metal cleats they can be used as weapons, they unturn donated them to him. I offered my service to help liquidate them on ebay. There is a ton of them and frankly I have no idea if the story is true or not. I can't find cleats that are identical to them as they appear custom made, a number of them bare the number of the player. If anyone has any information on how I can identify them as belong to the players or not it would be great. I want to get these listed asap so the money can go back into the community. Here is a photo of the bag and a pair randomly pulled.

This site might be useful for you:
    Baseball Reference, SF Giants

Click on the various years, then on "Payroll, Roster, Uniforms" and scroll to the bottom of the page to see who wore what number during that given year.

I see cleats with #21 on them in the picture there. #21 has been used by current Giants 2nd baseman Freddy Sanchez since 2009, and by former 2nd baseman Jeff Kent from 1997-2002. It's been worn by 8 other random scrubs between 2003 and 2009.

Thanks, this may turn out to be a difficult task. I wonder if there is a way to date the cleats to narrow the list of players? May just end up listing them with the number and the story on how they were acquired.

I have no idea how you should proceed. Are there any years or copyright dates on the shoes? You might try contacting the Giants team offices, or even the shoe manufacturer to collect more information.

You could also try doing a Google image search on the various possible players and seeing if you can get lucky and spot a one of the players wearing the same sort of shoes as you're holding.

On the one pair of #21 that I have the label has hardly any info. I was hoping that would shed some light too. I think the google imagine search is the best idea for the ones that have numbers, the other I have no idea how to tell what belonged to who.

Where are you located? I'm here in the Bay Area, very familiar with game used stuff and enjoy the detective work. I also work for a non-profit. If you're not in say Sacramento, I might be able to meet up with you and help you identify what you have.

PM me here with your email and we can chat offline.

I've seen some sellers sell items like this "as is" with as much information as possible. If you can find the player, that's great but if not, you never know what someone might pay for it, either as memorabilia or just to use.
