Unfortunately my mom's gone but she - like me - was a pack rat - so nothing got thrown out.
Having collected cards in the 50s/early 60 - and having brothers that collected up into the early 70s, I was amazed how BAD the cards looked.
One day she came out with a box of my brother's who collected in the 60s - here's an example:
I've still got some cards from my youngest brother - who collected in the 70s - also not very good - I gave them to my son - the Garvey RC looked like someone put it in the spokes of a bike!
It was probably a special child who "archived" cards when we were kids?

Unfortunately my mom has been gone for over 20 years now. Only thing I have still that reminds me of her is my 1966 Topps Mantle card.
RIP to all the moms that have passed.
