1952 Christmas Rack Pack as well...with the auction description...

This auction is for a 1952 Topps Baseball Christmas rack pack. This is one of the real and authentic, old baseball card rack packs.

The real deal racks were made from 1952 through 1962 only, by an unknown 3rd party. They used Topps overstock for these rack packs. The real racks can be seen with old staples (not bright, silver, shiny staples like you see on the new ones), candy cane design on both ends of the rack that entends right to the ends, and wreath/bow/Season’s Greetings on the back. In 1952, kids would get 1952 cards; in 1953 they'd get 1953 cards and so on up to 1962. These came from a find many, many years ago. All cards are authentic and original Topps cards. Some people are grading them and pulling PSA 8's and 9's from packs from the different years. They are also pulling PSA 4’s, 5’s, and 6's as well. So in addition to the high quality cards, some off centered or creased cards can also be found. There is no way to know what the six unseen cards are inside each pack, but any card is possible and from any series. There could be a Mantle, Mays, Pafko, Mathews, etc in these racks. I’ve put away a few of these 1952 packs, a couple even with a star card showing (be on the lookout for future auction listings). Each rack pack contains 12 cards with six cards showing and six cards unseen. The cards visible on this pack look really nice. Of course, this unopened item is sold "as-is". No returns or refunds will be given, so please bid accordingly and look at the pictures.

Cards showing on this rack pack are, On top: Sam Mele, Duane Pillette and Al Sima; On back: #6 Grady Hatton, #234 (can’t see the entire name) and a black back card last name Thompson (can’t see card #). This rack pack is in fantastic condition without any rips or tears.

I will ship this item for free.

Please check out my other auction items for more great vintage packs and a nice Mantle RC.

I hear you can send in your own cards and have them resealed. At least you know what you'll get. image

    Steve,

Do you think I have to supply my own Mantle RC or do they put one in there for me?

They could throw in a nice Mantle reprint for ya. LOL.

    Plastic Sealer Company

I just quickly Googled the above link - I have no idea who they are. But just buy a cheap sealing machine, a bit of plastic, get the labels printed so they look good, buy some EXMT raw commons and/or maybe a few EXMT HOF cards to place on top of the pack that show, and you've got your very own ebay resealer scamming kit. It's just too easy. image

I don't like to necessarily post something like this even in jest, to give any scammers out there any ideas, but these resealed packs are so prevalent on ebay now, I think it's best to illustrate how easy it is to do, so that fellow card collectors can avoid these maggot sellers on ebay.

I totally agree Steve. It's a shame because there are some legit Christmas racks out there, but they are drowned out by all the fakes. image

My advice is to stay clear of all Christmas racks unless you like the quality of the cards showing and bid accordingly.
