    Reach out touch faith

    Your own personal Jesus
    Someone to hear your prayers
    Someone who cares
    Your own personal Jesus
    Someone to hear your prayers
    Someone who's there

    Feeling unknown
    And you're all alone
    Flesh and bone
    By the telephone
    Lift up the receiver
    And then you're a believer

    Take second best
    Put me to the test
    Things on your chest
    You need to confess
    I will deliver
    You know I'm a forgiver

    Reach out touch faith

    I will deliver
    You know I'm a forgiver

    Reach out touch faith

    Your own personal Jesus

Maybe he ran out of time -- but buyers need to realize thay can file a SNAD if PSA detemines a card was altered.

or maybe the buyer just prefered to trash the seller and eat his loss.

Can you really do this? I had assumed that unless a seller specifically says a card is "PSA Near Mint", instead of "near mint", you have no real recourse. Grading is SUBJECTIVE, so they can say they graded it to their own personal standard. Maybe PSA says it altered but to SGC it's Near Mint. I'm sure you see where I'm going with that...

I had a similar issue with a large number of raws submitted a few months ago that I bought off another ebay seller. I currently have 12 waverly cards in a sub at PSA for grading, we'll see what comes back. Above all, thanks for the thread and the warning, I will be holding off on any more Waverly purchases until I get results, and even then will be hesitant.

The question, and it can only be answered by the individual, is this: Do i want to support a known card doctor, unethical dealer, and general cheat? If any of those things bother you, then the answer is no. If it doesn't then by all means go ahead.
A big time comic dealer I know has the following saying: "poeple would buy from the devil if he had a book they wanted"

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

If I was putting together a raw set (which I am not), that card would look wonderful in a plastic sheet. Getting one for several hundred dollars less than the norm wouldn't upset me at all.

I'm surprised the eBay auction page still comes up. I thought they were only accessible for a few months max.

hmm, that is interesting. Even the picture is still up. Usually the picture is gone before the listing disappears.

I wish I would have known about this forum 6 months ago because I now have a couple of Waverly specials in my collection. Oh well, live and learn.
  • I've been collecting 72 football for quite awhile and when I saw his "mint" auctions pop up I had to take a look. Almost all the borders look trimmed, or way undersized. The cards he has in slabs look to have the right size border spacing. Looks like someone has been using the Ginsu again !! image
Any team on any given Sunday, can beat any other team...unless they were playing the Miami Dolphins in 1972.
