Vintage Bulk Handling & Storage Ideas

So if you had 11,000+ plus cards worth $3 to $40 each how would you store them. Let’s say it was a 40 card set and you had 200 to 800 of each card. They are raw in the boxes like they came from the printer (business card boxes). Do you put them in penny sleeves and Card Saver Ones? Put them in 400 count boxes, raw. The goal is to get some graded, sell on EBay and at shows.

  • The cards you plan on grading you will want in cardsavers quickly to limit chance of damage. Depends how long the balance will be sitting. Are you planning on selling by the set or individually, or lots of the same card? That would determine how I went forward. Graded card bags or team set bags if selling by the set or player (or driver) lots.
  • If you are looking to store them in a climate controlled environment, I'd do penny sleeves or 9 page binder sleeves (The good quality ones), that will be find for them since they aren't moving

If you are actually looking to get rid of some of them I'd be a buyer and you can PM me and we can go from there!

They will be sold by sets and individuals. I guess each card needs some protection no matter what. Do I put them in small 50 or 200 count clear plastic boxes raw? They will need to be secure so they could take the travel to and from shows. I just hate to spend $525 on all the Card Saver I's.
  • If you're doing them by little team sets you can set up binders at your table... I've done that with some pretty good success as a show (Moved $1400 worth at the time), I pretty much had set up so I knew where the team was and I could point people to it, they wanted yankees this one had yankees.

    Edit*
For the most part it is people looking for teams or to complete sets from a certain year, like last month I had a guy want every Kaline card from 1954 to 196~ and I ended up having 2 sold at full price.
