Nice little craigslist find... 61-62 Fleer Basketball - STARS!!!!... Offer=?

What would be a solid offer for resale of this basketball? I don't want to lowball the guy but I want to be at a solid 1.4-1.5x spent assuming no grading fees.

This guy literally has some great stuff (Mostly late 50's early 60's) mixed in with complete junk...

Did you ask him what he wanted for them? I find it easier to deal if the seller has a price in mind. No need to low ball him, he want have any trouble selling the cards unless they are hot. I'm always a little worried about someone selling this kind of cards on CL.

    Good luck,
    Paul
  • He contacted me off of my buying add, he's got several thousand baseball and football including many late 50's and early 60's, a mantle several year books and lots of oddball items., I haven't seen a vintage collection posted in months

Lot of nice stuff... You better get a good price if you buy it all. Most of that stuff is a real slow move, I'm probably not telling you anything you don't already know.

    Good luck

  • I understand that, need to know a solid offer on it for me to clear 1.5ish (On the basketball atleast)

For the 1961 Fleers, get a good handle on the Cousy, Robertson, Baylor and Chamberlain IA cards (and their respective IA cards).....for the commons, offer around $5 each (unless they appear to be strong 8's/9's)....

I would offer around $750 for the 61-62s if that's all that's there.

Tell him in no uncertain words, that the majority of his stuff is of little value, but you will take the good, bad & ugly "off his hands".

Just ask him what he wants for the entire collection. And go from there.

I usually take an offer and "split the difference" with a lower offer.

...Or you can pay him "by the pound" image
