Bin Laden and Gold question.

How many ounces of gold do you think a collector would have to pony up for either A, B, or C.

A. The bullet to the head (removed from the head, cleaned, and nicely displayed)

B. The bullet to the heart (heart doesn't come with it)

C. The gun used to shoot the bullets (signed, or unsigned by the trigger puller)

Does anyone here have any idea how many ounces one would have to pony up at auction for either one of these three ?

    A. The bullet to the head (removed from the head, cleaned, and nicely displayed)

The bullet may be unrecoverable, if it was a thru-and-thru. If recoverable and
DNA tested, it could go for twixt $50K and $150K with a signed letter from the
doctor and a signed printout of the DNA profile.

    B. The bullet to the heart (heart doesn't come with it)

If recoverable and DNA-tested and physician certified, it could go for $50K
    or more.

    C. The gun used to shoot the bullets (signed, or unsigned by the trigger puller)

One-Million dollars or more. Lots of paperwork/affidavits would be required
    to obtain max-value.

I would be interested in the firearm, but the bullets are less interesting because
their authenticity would always remain more speculative.

A nice letter from the shooter and his associates make the firearm a delicious
    item.

The firearm would be MUCH more likely to hold/increase its value than the
    bullets, over time.

In the heat of the news story, both the firearm and the bullets would likely get
    nice bids from their manufacturers.

    ...............

Because the "collectibles" are government property, they would likely be
installed in a museum and not be made available to private owners.

Great question! I feel a tiny bit remorseful at just how glad I was to hear of his death.
The more I hear of the firefight, the prouder I feel about our military men & womenl.
and I am reminded to remain thankful that I live and prosper in this great country...
