Odd-colored 1976 telephone centennial stamp

As an introduction to myself, I used to be an avid stamp collector back in the 1970s and 1980s. I have a 1976 13 cent telephone centennial stamp (cancelled) that is perfectly normal except for its color. The background is a kind of light pinkish-white, much different than anything shown in any stamp guide I've seen. Does anybody out there have an explanation for this? I can email a picture of it if anybody would like.

The postal issue had a pinkish hue to the background as seen in this high res image. Does it match?
