  • I hate to ruin everyone's party, but I don't think bloodshed is something to celebrate, no matter what the deceased may have done while alive.

in bin laden's case, i completely disagree. His death should be celebrated. At the very least this could provide some closure to the families of the 3000 totally innocent Americas that were murdered by this jerk.

Justice is done. Now I just pray that the revenge his followers take can be keep under control.
  • My comment was not specific to the families of 9/11 victims, but a very general observation about the other 300+ million citizens of the U.S.

All this talk of "peace and human dignity" is completely incongruous to celebrating bloodshed in any form.

I am a pacifist, and in a very general sense, I am revolted by the thirst for violence I've observed in my neighbors and peers. I refuse to partake in it. An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.

I feel that more lives will be saved, with this one life gone..... that alone is worth celebrating.

So are we better off continuing to allow one person to take out the eyes of thousands of innocent people?

Really?? You seem to be doing a great job "partaking" in this thread : link

If you're going to pretend to be on a high horse, you should really do a better job.
  • I love my country, I have special respect for anyone who serves in our military....but I fear my government.

I'm happy that he is dead, but I always take the "glorified American exceptionalism" delivery with a grain of salt.
