Anybody submit Buffalo Nickels to PCGS?

I have a dilemma on my hands. Every single time I submit a buffalo nickel it changes colors either in the mail or while waiting to be graded. Sometimes its a good thing but sometimes its a really bad thing. Here is how I currently package my coins. I put them in the PVC free flips then I stack them and wrap them in a rubber band. Then I put them in the little cardboard mailers with my order form wrapped around that then I put one more rubberband around the cardboard holder and order form. Any advice would be appreciated because I have a handful i want to send in but I am too scared.

thanks

so than what do I use? I have been under the understanding anything else is unacceptable and subject to an extra charge.

The rubberbands shouldn't effect any color on the coin as long as the rubberbands aren't directly touching the coins surface. Rubberbands can effect toning on coins if they are stored with the coins for a long time, but that's about it. I don't see how any buffalo nickels or any coins can change color after being sent in for grading? Unless the color isn't natural, then they can change color rapidly from exposure to heat.

Exactly what I was thinking. Their might be some kind of reaction going on with the chemicals and elements if the coins were dipped or doctored or whatever people like to use the terms for.

My question would be are they bought from the same seller?

Which "PVC free" are you using? I've sending in copper, nickel, silver coins for grading with the type of flips PCGS has at their table at shows, with white labels on each for the order and line number, and then bound together with a rubber band and haven't had any problems. I have seen others use different flips and sometimes ave problems.

Rubber bands that make direct contact with coins can tone them. If they are changing color from the time you mail them to the time they get back your coins are certainly played with (AT). Are these coins actually slabbing or BB?
