Looking for info on 1899 Philippines Panay coins?

Anyone have pictures of them?

    I recall one or more of these at auction years ago--either a Superior (under the Goldbergs) and/or Ponterio auction.

    They are crude and cast. And rare.

    I remember them because I also had an interest, but ultimately didn't bid due to their crudeness and lack of eye appeal.
    I've never seen any since.

    If you're interested in purchasing one, I can suggest a dealer to you who may have one.

    Maybe they are not cast. I could be confusing that coin with the Barilla patterns.

    Anyway, have you seen this Heritage auction?

    I am pretty sure that they are struck not cast. I had not seen the the Heritage auction. Too bad the picture is not there. From the description, I think it might be the one pictured so poorly in Krause. I thought an auction earlier had one. I could easily be wrong about any of this. The price of 7 or $8,000 is right for what I do remember.

    Not really interested in buying one. I certainly didn't realize one is available to the market. Is it a 1 Cent or a 2 Cent?
