Shipping Q&A...

lkeneficlkenefic Posts: 8,568 ✭✭✭✭✭
Hello Everyone

What is the preferred method for shipping... both as a seller and as a buyer.

I typically offer shipping included in the price of the coin, but there's a wide range of shipping options. Also, does Paypal require Delivery Confirmation on sales of less than $250 or can I send First Class with Certified mail option. The reason I ask is that my PO requires Priority Mail to get Del Conf... add insurance on top of it and my 6x9 bubble mailer packages are coming out to $7-8 each. Not what I had originally anticipated when calculating shipping!

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  • PP requires sig confirm only on items above $250.

I print my labels/postage from the PayPal site....Delivery confirm is only .19 and you can ship First Class package (under 13 oz.) ....insure if you want...

Usually a 3 oz. bubble mailer with a single slabbed ASE is under $2 (with delivery confirm)

  • If you don't use PP the USPS offers free tracking with purchase of printing label online with Priority Mail services. I love the small flat rate boxes ($5 regardless of weight) perfect for sending out slabs or lots of bullion. Obviously the price will fluctuate based on how much insurance you want to put on said items, but IMO this is my preferred method for small items. The larger the boxes the more expensive it gets with the rates so I haven't used larger sizes but feel the $5 for the small is a good deal.

I think you should question this if you are using First Class Parcel rate which all bubble mailer are.

    check this out:

    USPS link

check Delivery Confirmation and it'll give you a total for First Class Mail with Delivery Confirmation. You can send First Class mail with Delivery Confirmation. I do it all the time.

Thanks everyone! So it looks like all I need to do is have a printer to print the label and the fees come out of my Paypal account?

Your post office is staffed by idiots.

You don't need a label printer to use PayPal shipping. It will print on regular paper. You just have to cut and tape.
