Shipping to Singapore ? Any thoughts appreciated

Greetings O Dark ones , normally i restrict shipping to the lower 48 but have on occasion shipped to Europe.I'm wondering if it's worthwhile sending a coin to Singapore that's been requested. The coin in question is a rare low mintage item but not astronomical in value , i'd still like to cover my bases at this end if it can be done.I surely appreciate any ideas or indeed factual information.

What bases are you trying to cover? Is this an eBay/PayPal deal? If so, do you want to be covered by PayPal's seller protection? What is the value of the item? How much risk are you willing to accept? Any other relevant info?

That's it for now with the questions. image

Singapore is a law abiding country and very proud of that. I have shipped too and received many packages from there. I trade banknotes with collectors there from time to time.

  • Hi Mr P , yes it will be a paypal transaction , my fear is the unknown buyer and the "i didnt get it" gag. Ive nothing to base that on other than it's possible.Value is an unknown to me,it's one of those dead nation issues from the days of the british empire, far removed from Singapore on a whole different continent(africa). I'm speculating it could go to a few hundred dollars,it depends as it isnt the widest collected series. The last time i used signature confirmation was to the UK and it was $16 , that was a year or more now ago. With the recent discussion on Canadian shipping and the hassles of no delivery confirmation other than the most expensive route i wondered if theres a reasonable way i could get it DC somehow. Thanks image

I do not believe there are any inexpensive ways to get international tracking- it's probably going to cost around $25-$30. If it's any help, I've shipped a number of times to Singapore using First Class International Mail (there's no protection for the shipper this way, of course) with no problems.

$29 gets you Express Mail International with delivery confirmation to many countries, it's what I just used for a package to Japan.
  • Thanks guys , i appreciate the input , i'll let Mr Ng know image its almost 9am there so , nothing like a spot of good news to start the day. Thanks again everybody.
