Misattributed Feuchtwangers......

This seems to be a real problem. I think the graders ATS should seriously start LEARNING how to tell these apart!!
If you are buying.....take the time to CHECK the diagnostics. Expensive mistakes are being made, and unless you know what you are buying....it will co$t you.
From one recent submission I viewed in hand, THREE 6G pieces (R1) were mis attributed at the very rare R6 3G variety! One common 3E was wrongly identified as a rare 3B. And when youre dealing with only 6 in the pops to begin with...adding in 3 more misattributed ones......havoc.
These mistakes ARE NOT NEW. This has been going on in auctions, sales...for awhile. Witness this archived sale of a "3I" ? There is NO such animal. And to rub salt in the wound Stacks back then even concocted their own rarity rating (for something that dosent exist). This piece....oh....someone no doubt was pretty angry about this....is a common 6I that was called, and SOLD, as a 3I (non existant).

BTW obv. 6 has a even hard cut top to the rear wing, obv. 3 has the rear wing top in three distinct segments. There are mistakes out there with these....and I am also certain unattributed pieces exist.

I'm about ready to hand in my resume' to be their head attribution specialist, because whoever they have over there needs to
get their vision seriously checked out!
If I were ever to buy a Feuchtwanger, I think there is only one or possibly two people that I would go to for advice when seeking the stamp of approval.
