SMR article about Superman.....

I have to admit, I'm not really into too much in the way of non-sports....but I really enjoyed reading about the 1966 Superman cards in the newest SMR. Anyone here collect these or read the article?

<< <i>I thought the article made a mistake. It stated that the Superman cards were smoking hot and the prices were going up. That couldn't be further from the truth. I had a hard time giving mine away, and I was selling PSA 8's and 8.5's for a song...... >>
Morning,
Partially because 4SC just raped this set recently!!!!!!!!!!!!

No where did it state that they are "smoking hot and the prices were going up"...quite the opposite. The phrase "affordable alternative" to the 1940 Gum Inc. Man of Steel issue was used. It does state that demand seems to be on the rise, however. I don't know if I read the same article. The one I read was talking about the rare white backs...the centering issues...the condition issues relating to the orange backs....the fact that certain cards are very difficult to find in higer grade because of where they were placed on the sheets....the fact that gum was not included in a lot of the packs and the packs that do have gum are rare. But....maybe all of that put together "really" means the cards are smoking hot and the prices are going up!
If you call starting a PSA 8 for 99 cents, and see it sell for $3.00 as being active bidding, then I can't wait to do a whole complete set break!!!! (take note of the sarcasm here)
PS - Bear in mind, SMR on above mentioned PSA 8 is $60. SMR really needs to adjust to reflect the TRUE selling price of these things.
