This colonial coin should have been graded higher: no pics!

This coin was terrific in hand with no mentionable hits to the surface and that were semi reflective PL and lustrous.

I thought it should have graded easily higher....I may break it out.

edited to add: I am whining about this one.

No pics means it didn't happen. image

Anyway, post a pic when you get it back and let's discuss and debate. I've had similar ATS, an 1817 shilling that I was sure was a 66 or better, and it came back a 58. I've been over it multiple times with a 5x loupe and cannot see a bit of rub or even strike weakness anywhere. It still sits on my desk and I look at it to try to figure out why, one day i may crack it out and send it back, but I am loath to give them any more money for grading it.

For the record, I have a "whining" box-seriously.

I have 7 or 8 coins in it right now; resting til the day I'm ready to vent my spleen in a missive to the graders
(in a nice way of course) and make my case for a regrade.

So far I've been at least fairly successful; even though, if they decide it's NT, they drop it a point just in case and just
so I don't get carried away image
No,no- the kids and the cat are all right honey.
It's just that I got my PCGS grades.
