1910 P Lincoln NGC MS63RB. Well struck and very clean for the grade. Deep, nearly full red with some irridescent lavender and blue. Silver toning spot on the shoulder. $40
1911 P Lincoln ICG MS62 BN. Even chocolate brown with red glow around the devices and at the rims. Extremely well struck. I'd buy this raw as a 64BN any day. $33
1911 P PCGS MS63RB, OGH lotsa red on the obverse, blue and orange reverse, no marks and well struck. $50 ON EBAY
1915 D PCGS MS64RB Nice mix of red and brown, Great luster and strike with very few marks. If this were in a 65 RB holder, you wouldn't even blink. $300
1917 P Lincoln ICG MS63BN. Nice lighter caramel brown with considerable red for a brown designated coin. Nice luster. A tiny spec by the "7". A pretty coin. $30
1911 S F12 $40
1926 D G6 Rotated reverse $2
1931 D Lincoln Cent ICG MS64RD. Again, appropriately graded. This is a very underrated and scarce date in Mint State. While the original mintage may be five times that of the '31S, the population reports show that this date in 64RD and higher is five times as scarce as the '31S. With a PCGS Pop of just 196 in 64RD, and 171 higher (396 in ALL Mint State grades combined), this date should humble the '31S, which has a pop of 1187 in 64RD and 824 higher, with nearly 2200 graded in all mint state grades combined. Think there's a bunch out there raw, waiting to be graded? I seriously doubt it. Nice red coin with very few marks and good luster. Some faint freckling limiting the grade. Tough coin, with a PCGS priceguide listing @ $375 (the '31S lists @$400). $250
1931 S Lincoln PCGS MS62RB. Well struck with nice luster. Some mottled darker areas, with a lot flashing red under a light. Very few marks. $185
1933 D AU dipped, couple of hits on the cheek. Presentable look though, $13
1934 D MS64RB Nearly full red, with a bit of "freckling" near the obv rims. Few marks; $24

TWO CENT/THREE CENT
1864 Large Motto 2c NGC MS61 BRN. Glossy chocolate brown with some streaks of gold on both sides, exceptionally well struck. $125
1867 3 Cent Nickel PCGS PR63 VERY OLD OGH, cert #2557503. Brilliant, with light contrast. Exceptionally nice, and is a Proof 64+. $450
1871 3 Cent Nickel PCGS PR64 OGH, cert #6274582. Absolutely gorgeous Better date, and undergraded by at least one point if not 2. Lovely ORIGINAL tone (not secondary) in metallic pastel pink, blue and yellow. Tired of those dipped proofs that all look the same? This one is head and shoulders above. $900.
1881 3 Cent Nickel PCGS Pr64, OGH, cert # 6274581. Nearly a twin to the previous (note the sequential cert numbers), with all the same WOW factors. $700
NICKELS
1867 No Rays Shield Nickel NGC MS63. Nice for the grade, with clean white surfaces, very nice luster, and an exceptional strike for this design. Both sides have a prooflike appearance, with die polishing evident. Not all "die cracked" up, as these are so often seen. Nice coin. $205 . After looking at a few more of these in 63 and 64, I realize I forgot to mention, NO SPOTS.

1911 Liberty nickel NGC MS64. Very few marks with nice luster beneath some medium coppery tone. Surfaces are well struck, quite mark free, and appear somewhat prooflike. This technically looks closer to MS65 than MS64, and most definitely original, probably envelope stored for who knows how long. $195

1860 O Seated Half Dime. Currently in a DGS holder graded AU58 with the notation "Cleaned and Retoned". Such a blunt assessment gives no credit to how special this coin appears to be. The strike, color, and luster are simply amazing. Searching through the Heritage archives and PCGS Coinfacts, this 1860 O has better eye appeal (IMO) than either the NGC 67* (Heritage) or the PCGS 67 (Coinfacts). Of course, pictures are no definitive substitute for in hand viewing, and while the two 67s may look better in hand, the offered example absolutely does. There are some hairlines on both sides, but if this were a proof of the same era, the grade would probably be 64. This coin looks to be, at the very least, mint state, and one of the first coins off the dies, surfaces appearing quite prooflike. Being that 1860 was a transitional year for the design, it isn't a long leap to the possibility that this is a presentation piece, cherished for generations by descendants of the recipient, and more recently, housed for many decades in a Wayte Raymond (?) album. Simply, one of the most appealing Half Dimes out there. $1500
1842 Seated Dime. DGS AU58 notated "Cleaned and Retoned". Looking like a long term companion to the 1860 O above, this 1842 has outstanding eye appeal. While the grade here may be accurate, the cleaning is very light and not detracting in the least. The outstanding eye appeal cannot be denied. Beautiful. $500
1838 O Dark, Good with some uneven wear on reverse, couple old scratches on obverse. $32
1841 O F15 $29
1845 F12 light cleaning $16
1853 arrows VF, bright center on obv, nice rim tone, rev grey/rose. $29
1890 Seated Dime NGC MS64. Nearly white and very lustrous, with but a hint of tone (images are a bit more pronounced). Well struck and clean for the grade, the "soft" area at "AM" on the obverse is a scuff on the holder, the legend is well defined. A very nice Type example. $370
1892 Barber, Yellow ANACS MS61. Looks better with some faint hairlines, brilliant white with attractive red rim tone on the obv. Nice unc dime. $150
1892 Barber, NGC MS62. Clean for the grade, with a nice strike and luster, looks MS63 to me. Medium golden russet on the obverse, deeper on the revesre with a lot of deep blue. Some prominent die clash is apparent on both sides. Quite the original piece. $155
1911 Barber, old small white ANACS MS61. Nice original coin, lightly toned centers with some crusty charcoal clinging to the edges. Looks more like 63. $150
1913 Barber, PCGS MS62. Fully brilliant and well struck, just a hint of vanilla. $155.
1914 Barber, NGC MS63. Lustrous, very well struck, and quite mark free for the grade. Some blue /gold/red/ yellow/green around the obverse periphery, with the reverse sporting an intense rainbow arc from 5:00 to 11:00 in neon gold/magenta/green. Original, unmessed with, and very pretty. $225

QUARTERS
1834 ANACS (blue) VF25. Looks 5 to 10 points better, perhaps silently net graded for a few non distracting reverse marks, retains much more luster than expected for a "25".$150
1835 B-2, VF20 obverse, XF reverse, lightly cleaned. $125
1853 A&R Quarter, nearly VF. Nice natural and wholesome looking piece, light silvery grey. NOT cleaned, and scarce as such. $45
1854 With Arrows XF 40, luster remains among the devices. A light cleaning, and mostly light silvery grey, but not unnaturally bright, with a hint of light gold/tan. $50
1873 arrows F12, original deeper grey w/ rose. $35
1877 S NGC MS61. Mostly brilliant, a bit of light secondary album tone at the upper obverse rim. Some scuffing and tics, commensurate with the grade, but confined mostly to the obverse, as well as some pimples resultant from rusted dies. A nice affordable example for Type. $360
1891 PCGS MS64. A gorgeous toned piece, with vivid seagreen at the rims, surrounding brilliant centers with splashes of coppery red around the devices. Well struck except for the stars from 10:00 to 4:00, and very mark free. No doubt desrves a plus. $1250
1896 P G6 $9
1915 S NGC VF30. Original better date $85
1917 Type 1 NGC XF45. Well detailed with no fading at the date. White, and most likely gently cleaned long ago, with an easily missed light reverse scratch. $150.
1926 D ANACS MS63. Old low 6 digit holder. Nice original piece with good luster. The head is better than many for this date, flatness only in central part. $185
1927 S SLQ G4, natural light silvery grey. $30
1932 D VG/F nice original looking coin with a touch of gold and multicolor album tone. Obv is closer to fine, rev VG. $125
1932 D VG/F Nice original looking coin, light silver in color. Obv is VG+, reverse closer to fine, with nearly full rims all around. $125
1932 D XF45. Lots of luster with some nice hints of gold. Thin scratch in front of the portrait. $225
1932 S DGS AU50, "Lightly Cleaned". Mostly white, but not unnaturally bright, with a hint of lavender at the peripheries. While the obverse was cleaned a bit more enthusiastically than the reverse, it still retains a nice look, and considerable detail for the grade. Would fit nicely in an otherwise AU/BU set. $190
1934 P ANACS MS65. Early holder (880849), and accurately graded. Gorgeous original coin with great luster, and just the right hints of gold, amber and blue to say "never dipped". $90

1949 P Franklin NGC MS63FBL. Brilliant w/ light gold rim tone on rev. One line of 4 reeding marks on Ben's jowl apparently the reason for the grade, looks better, with a great strike. The reverse is no question MS65. $70
1949 P Franklin ANACS (old) MS63. Brilliant with some reddish gold rim tone and nice luster. Bell lines are full, but not noted (too early?), some hits on the obverse are commensurate with the grade, reverse grades 64. $62
1950 P Franklin NGC MS64. Mostly brilliant, with some golden haze, gaining depth at the lower obverse rim. Well struck with Bell Lines that are full with a short cut on the right side. Appropriately graded. $52
1951 P ANACS MS62FBL, brilliant centers with attractive gold rim tone, some blue on the rev. Well struck with full bell lines and looks better than MS62. $37
1951 P Franklin ANACS (very old) MS65. Hazy tan patina. Few marks but a touch grainy on the high points. $50
1951 D Franklin ICG MS63FBL. Lustrous white with nice bell lines. Faint white print pattern is seen, some reeding marks on Ben's dome. $50
1951 D ICG MS64FBL. Lustrous white with a bit of haze, and a tiny splash of gold at ST in TRUST, and correcponding reverse area. Clean and well struck, with very nice bell lines. $75
1951 D PCGS MS64 OGH, and apparently pre- FBL designation, as these lines are unquestionably full. A small strike through on the bell from Gem. $77
1952 P PCGS MS64FBL. Near Gem. $48
1952 P PCGS MS65FBL. Nice speckled copper, red, amber, gold mint set tone. Nice luster. $125
1953 P Franklin PCGS MS65, Golden russet speckled obverse, brilliant reverse. Tougher date in Gem. $87
1953 D Franklin NGC MS64FBL clean white coin with nice Bell Line definition, high end for grade. $45
1953 S Franklin NGC MS65 Brilliant with wonderful luster and a light patch of gold either left rim. Looks great. $67
1954 P PCGS MS64FBL. Nice luster. $42
1954 S NGC MS64. Brilliant. $27
1955 P PCGS MS64 Brilliant, nice. $32
1955 Franklin NGC MS65. Obvious mint set example, with deep, beautiful, copper/orange/blue on the obverse, with a similar but much lighter reverse. Well struck and quite clean, with one mark on the cheek noted, as well as a thin planchet line in front of the ear, but appropriately graded. $60
1955 "Bugs Bunny". ICG MS63. Lustrous white with two small patches of tone on the obverse. Close to FBL. $40
1956 P NGC MS65. Deep mint set tone in steel blue/grey/gold. Clean with very nice luster. $37
1956 P NGC MS65 Smokey mottled obv, pink rev, nice luster, obvious mint set coin $37
1957 P NGC MS65 Mint set toner. $47
1957 P Franklin NGC MS65. Unquestionable mint set coin, with typical colors in blue/charcoal/tan/pinkish orange, particularly attractive on the obverse for this date. Very clean obverse with a few thin scratches on the bell limiting the grade. In an older, but not 1st gen., fat NGC holder. $47
1957 P Franklin PCGS MS65. Another typically toned example from a mint set, but lacking the haziness most frequently encountered. Some scattered, tiny tics on the head and on the bell, and without the color, would probably grade MS64. Very nice eye appeal, tho. $47
1957 D Franklin PCGS MS65FBL. Typically toned (for this date) mint set example, with a hazy greyish/tan/blue patina over both sides, with bright orange highlights really jumping out with a slight tilt under a light. Arguably not FBL, it seems PCGS is very lenient on this date in particular for this designation. Very clean surfaces, however, with just a couple thin circular scratches on the upper bell limiting the grade. $52
1957 D Franklin PCGS MS64 "Rattler". Mostly brilliant with a touch of mottled, very faint tan. Well struck, with FBL, short cut at the extreme left side of the lines. Few marks, but appropriately graded. $25
1957 D PCGS MS64FBL. A bruise beneath the eye, nice luster. $32
1958 Franklin PCGS MS65. Lightly toned mint set example, which is predominately a silvery pewter, with irridescent gold/yellow/green/blue at the rims and extending towards the centers. The portrait is very clean, though there is a well hidden, thin scratch behind the bust. Again, if brilliant and raw, I would probably call this MS64, but will concur with PCGS in the final assessment given it's superior eye appeal.$40
1958 D Franklin PCGS MS64FBL. Fully brilliant with nice frosty luster. $32
1958 D Franklin PCGS MS65. Typically toned example from a mint set, with a pewter/orange/russet obverse, and a similar, lighter reverse sporting a bright red/copper crescent at the left rim. Very clean, with a few thin scratches on the bell limiting the grade. $45
1958 D Franklin MGC MS65. Lovely mint set example. Light pewter obverse with lots of golden red flash, reverse is berilliant with a thin rainbow at the rim from 9 to midnite. Very clean with nice luster, and bell lines that are quite close to full. $45
1959 P PCGS MS64FBL Brilliant $32
1959 D PCGS MS64FBL. Nice coin. $32
1960 P NGC MS64FBL Brilliant, way full bell lines. $50
1960 P NGC MS64FBL Flashy white coin with excellent Bell Line definition. 64 obverse, 65 reverse. $55
1960 D Franklin PCGS MS64FBL. Fully brilliant and fully struck, bright white example. This is just about as good as it gets in this grade, really making claims to the next grade up, and deserving of the FBL designation. Really nice example for a brilliant set, and a huge value, as MS65 nonFBL examples are bid at $300. This contender, $60
1960 D PCGS MS64FBL. Brilliant, nice bell lines. $60
1962 D NGC MS64 FBL, brilliant, very full lines. $50
1963 P PCGS MS64 Brilliant and nice for the grade $27
1963 P PCGS MS64 Brilliant, Should be MS65 $35

1963 P NGC MS65. Brilliant with some tone at the rims. $35
1963 D NGC MS63FBL, Brill, nice thin red rim crescent on obv. Obv baggy, rev gem, $25

DOLLARS
1796 Draped Bust, Small Eagle $1, Small Date, Large Letters, Bolender 4. This resides in a DGS VF20 holder, with the notation; "Cleaned and Retoned, Altered Surfaces". This coin looks to have been net graded from a VF35, with nearly all detail remaining. The cleaning has not left the usual plethora of hairlines that normally are seen on the great majority of coins from this era, including those holdered and graded by the top TPGs. The toning is a deeper grey, though pretty evenly distributed over both sides. As for the "altered surfaces", the graders were merely alluding to the lack of originality on the surfaces (their words), and, IMO, greatly overstating the extent of the cleaning. A great coin for Type, and with Greysheet Bid @ $4850 in VF(20), and @ $9000 in XF(40), a wonderful opportunity at $4250, delivered.

1925 S California Jubilee NGC MS62. Some mottled golden russet at the rims, as often seen , attesting to the originality of this coin. I often wonder what common storage this may be attributed to. In his Commem book, QDB referred to some "leather pouches", not official issue, and I suspect these may be the source. Chromelike luster, with brilliant centers, and well struck. A few light slide marks on the obverse responsible for the grade. $215
