GSA CC Morgan COA questions

Is there a market for off-date (anything other than '82-84) GSA COA's?
How do you prove the authenticity of the card itself? Reason I ask is I've seen some that the first 2 numbers that are used to indicate the year of the coin it is matched with seem to be unlike the rest of the numbers on the COA. Can these cards be counterfitted, and if so, what do you look for to indicate it has been?

To forgive is to free a prisoner, and to discover that prisoner was you.

There's certainly a market for the better-date cards. I've not seen any counterfit cards but then I may have gotten out of the market before that was even a possiblity or problem. There are GSA ollectors today who would be better than I at spoting fakes.
The differences you've noted in some the first two numbers versus the rest of the numbers is not defacto proof of a questionable card. I saw many such cards 20 years ago or more....back when the cards were considered worthless and routinely thrown in the trash.
