1957 Topps #299 Variation, Error or Uncorrected error

I am working on a 1957 Topps baseball set, and just today received a #299 Chuck Harmon in a purchase. I was reading the back of the card when I noticed a strange batting record for 1954 that is NOT Chuck Harmon's stats for 1954. My card says he played in 223 games in 1954 - clearly a strange and inaccurate error. But I looked up the rest of his 1954 stats, and non of them match what is printed on his 1957 baseball card for the 1954 season. Can anyone tell me if this is a variation, an error, or an uncorrected error?

Thanks,
Rich

I don't know if it was corrected, but I found two examples of that card and both have the same error as yours.
  • Topps has his career totals from 1954 through 1956 on his 1954 statistics line, and his 1954 statistics on his career totals line, they should have been switched. I doubt if the card was ever corrected.
  • I don't think Topps would have changed stats on cards in 1957, thus I'd wager that card is an uncorrected error

If they didn't take the time to correct the Aaron card from that year, I doubt they even thought about a error on the back of another.
