long awaited, much anticipated instructions for uploading a picture on this website

This might seem long, but it's not. Please take the time to help yourself out. It's free simple knowledge lol.

Take a picture (please lord, let them know how to do that).
Use that cord with funny connecting ends that probably came with the camera or computer to connect the camera to the computer.
If it's the first time doing so, the computer will most likely automatically install what it needs to from the camera so you can get the pictures to the computer.
After that (if it was necessarry to do so), you can direct the pictures to where you want them to be on your computer by using that little dropdown arrow. I direct them to "My Documents" because that seems to work the best.
Go to photobucket.com and create a FREE account. Very easy, just follow instructions.
Now you are logged on to photobucket. click on the green button (that's what i call it anyway) that says "Upload now".
That will take you to a page with a bigger green button that says "Select photos and videos".
If you have your picture in "My Documents" on your computer (or wherever you have the pictures on your computer) a pop-up will come up showing you the pictures you have there, in that particular file.
Highlight (click on) the picture you want to upload and click on open in the lower right corner.
It will magically and mysteriously make the picture go to photobuckets website.
Click on the green button that says "Save and continue".
You are now on you "album" page with the picture you just upoloaded to PB.
Put your mouse over the picture and left click your mouse on the line that says " Direct link" It will flash that it has been copied.

YOU"RE almost there, dont stop now.

Go to BST Forum here and click on "new topic'. You are now creating a thread for what you are wanting to sell and guess what, you can show people what you are wanting to sell.
See that little green square that looks like a TV just to the left of "http" ? Click on that.
A pop-up comes up.
On your keyboard, Press control and the letter V. The address for the picture you want to upload will now be in that little box.
Click ok and now that address is in your thread, hence you now have a picture in your thread...of what you are trying to sell.
Finish up your details of pricing and accepted forms of payment and so forth.
Click on "preview" to see exactly how your thread will look once "posted".
If you need to make changes, make them, or you can edit the thread once posted too.

You have now successfully created a thread of what you are trying to sell, low & behold, with a picture for everyone to see what it is. If it's an unusual item, people really like to see it and you have now increased your chances of making a sale by simply taking the 3 minutes it takes to do all this.
Congratulations and best of luck to you with your sales here on this fantastic place to do some business.

As you can tell by my simple use of what might be technical computer terms, I am no computer genious. So if an idiot like me can do this, you can too, you're just gonna have to trust me on that. I have the utmost confidence you can do this too, to help yourself with your sales. It takes 3-5 minutes to do start to finish even if you're slow on a computer like me. So there's no reason not to do it now, right? Unless of course you don't have the item in the first place to take a picture of. image

If I have helped one person by taking the time to do this, it's been worth it. Anyone who may want to explain in more detail, feel free to do so. But I really think this covers this very simple process.

Right on cue, right on cue. Thanks for the bump of my informational thread. I hope that all here, every single user on this site, eventually sees it so they can never again use the lame excuse that they don't know how to upload a picture of something they are trying to sell. You know I'm right on this, I know I'm right on this. So go right ahead and make fun when you know it's right.
Yes, I will say it again.
IF YOU DON'T POST A PICTURE IN THE YOUR THREAD OF WHAT IT IS YOU ARE TRYING TO SELL, YOU ARE EITHER LAZY AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR POTENTIAL CUSTOMER, AND PROBABLY REALLY DON'T WANT TO SELL IT, OR YOU DON'T HAVE IT AND ARE TRYING TO PULL A FAST ONE!
It takes 3 minutes or less to do. You don't have 3 minutes? But yet you have time to critisize a thread that you know will be helpful for some? ok, I get it now. It's pure spite and vindictiveness on your part then...but I'm the troll, right? LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks again for making the obvious even more clear.

End of story, no exceptions to the rule now that I have provided very simple instructions of how to upload a picture. Done. Nothing left to prove thanks to TWQG and Timmy boy. Because we know now what their motive is, and the funny thing is they exposed it themselves. image x 10000000000000000000000000000

There have been relatively few problems on the BST in almost 10 years and almost all of those bad sellers showed pictures.
A little common sense goes a long way in not getting ripped off.
I don't think the BST needs any fixing. This is all just more drama from our resident whiner.

Their trying to (predicatably) save face now folks. Bochiman soon to follow suit folks. Wait for it...wait

They (meaning the many ALT's used to make you think it's many) just HAVE to respond. It's in their (really few) vindictive nature.

POM, it you're gonna take shots at other forum members at least try to limit it to one thread at a time.

I actually applaud the OP for trying to give the instructions.
It's the best thing he has done on here that I can recall...just too bad he tainted his own thread with taking potshots at folks.

Anyway, there are some good, and easier to read, instructional threads that already exist, but a lot of them are on the USCF and he has already said he doesn't like the USCF so probably didn't bother to search.

For folks that don't have a hosting service, and want to upload smaller photos (50k limit I believe) on the CU servers, you should check out these threads:
How to upload photos for viewing on CU, by NWCS from 2003
How to post photos on CU by Notwilight from 2006
How to post pictures on CU using photobucket (or other services) by SilverEagles92 from 2009

It is a tad funny though....the boards have been around for years, and some folks post photos, and some don't. We have all lived our lives without everyone putting photos on what they are selling. Heck, I have even bought from folks with no pictures AND have liked the coins. Now, if it were just bullion, I wouldn't care about pictures.....too easy to find pictures and claim they are yours, just like people on ebay do when they are scamming. So, know the people you are dealing with and if you don't like it, or don't get a good vibe, just move on. Pretty simple, I would think. Having a photo proves nothing.

Take, for instance, someone selling generic SAEs. Do people REALLY need a picture? Haven't seen one before? Haven't seen a roll of them before? For some, taking pictures, and moving them for posting, is pretty easy. For others, maybe not so. Not worth the hassle to try to force them to change their ways.
Now, if they WANT to post them and they ask for advice/help, nothing wrong with supplying it, nicely, without the sarcasm.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
